Naomi Tereza Salmon’s photographic and video works explore the boundary between image and reality, drawing on the tradition of trompe-l’œil and the idea of visual deception. Her works play with absence, illusion, repetition, and the expectations we bring to images. By transforming ordinary objects and situations through photography, mirrors, and video loops, Salmon questions what we perceive as real and what remains hidden or unseen. Her practice also reflects on photography’s claim to capture reality, while suggesting that perception is shaped as much by desire, expectation, and imagination as by what is actually visible.
